Usage Instructions

1. Set the base timezone

  • Choose your base timezone on the left. By default, the browser timezone will be used as a suggestion.
  • The base timezone card shows the current time and date in real time to compare with target cities.
  • When you turn on the work/ad time range, enter start/end time with dates. This range will be used as reference when converting to other cities.

2. Manage target cities

  • Use the dropdown in the top-right of the board to search by city or country, then add it as a target card.
  • Each target card shows local current time, date, time difference relative to the base timezone, and whether it is within 09:00–18:00 local business hours.
  • You can remove timezones at any time, or click \"Set as base\" to promote one city as the new base.

3. Read converted time ranges

  • When the work range is enabled on the left, each target card displays a \"Converted time range\" using local start/end times and dates.
  • If the conversion crosses calendar days (for example, late evening in base timezone equals next-day morning locally), a \"+1 day\" or \"-1 day\" label is added after the time.
  • This is useful for planning cross-timezone meetings, live events and ad windows where multiple regions need to be aligned.

4. What happens when you set a new base

  • Click \"Set as base\" on any target card to make that city the new base. The old base will be added back to the board as a target city.
  • If a work range is configured, it will be automatically converted to the new base timezone to keep the meaning of the time window consistent.

FAQ

Q: Why is the offset sometimes 8 hours and sometimes 7 hours for the same city?

A: This is caused by daylight saving time. The tool relies on the browser's built-in Intl timezone data and automatically handles DST based on date, no manual adjustment needed.

Q: Why do I see "+1 day" or "-1 day" next to the time?

A: When the converted local date is different from the card's current date (for example, base is 23:00 and the target city is already next morning), the tool marks it with "+1 day" or "-1 day" to avoid confusion.

Q: Will my browser/system timezone affect the results?

A: No. All calculations are based on the IANA timezone you select in the dropdown. The browser timezone is only used to suggest a default base timezone.
