    About Spin Wheel

Spin Wheel is a free, ad-free random picker for roll call, raffles, games, and everyday choices. Add names or options, click Spin (or press Space) — all in your browser.

    Key Features

    • Fair random: Cryptographically secure pick before the animation
    • Weighted odds: Optional weights with live probability in the edit panel
    • Elimination mode: Remove winners automatically; restore anytime
    • Bulk paste: Import lists quickly from spreadsheets
    • Fullscreen: Clean projection mode for classrooms and events
    • 24 color themes: Switch wheel palettes anytime
    • Sound & celebration: Spin ticks, win cheer, and confetti (mute/volume adjustable)
    • Spin history: Last 20 results saved on this device
    • Share link: Encode options and core settings in a URL — no account needed
    • Privacy first: Data stays on your device

    How to Use

    1. Add or paste options in the edit panel; use checkboxes to hide an item without deleting it.
    2. Open Settings for weighted odds, elimination, colors, and volumes as needed.
    3. Click SPIN (or press Space).
    4. Use fullscreen when projecting; use Share to copy a link for others.

    Tips

    • Keep lists near or under ~32 options for readable labels.
    • Use elimination mode for roll call without repeats.
    • New wheel clears locally saved data; share links do not include spin history.

    FAQ

Q: Is the result truly random and fair?

A: Yes. The winner is chosen with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) before the animation starts. The spin animation only visualizes that result — you cannot time the stop to cheat.

Q: Is my data uploaded to a server?

A: No. Options, settings, volume preferences, and the last 20 spin results stay in browser localStorage. Share links encode only options and core settings (not history or volumes). Nothing is stored on ToolGee servers.

Q: How does weighted mode work?

A: Turn on Weighted odds in Settings. Set a weight for each option; the edit panel shows live probability. Weight 10 vs weight 1 means roughly 10× the chance.

    Q: What is elimination mode?

A: When enabled, the winner is removed after each spin. Toggle it in Settings or the result dialog. Use Restore all in the edit panel to bring the full list back.

Q: How many options can I add?

A: Soft guidance at 32 options (labels may get hard to read). Hard limit is 100 options per wheel.

    Q: Can I import a list from a spreadsheet?

A: Yes. Use Bulk paste — one option per line, or label plus weight separated by comma/tab.

Q: How do I clear saved data?

A: Click New wheel in the toolbar to wipe localStorage and reset to the default sample list.

Q: Is this a lottery or gambling service?

A: No. This tool is only a random decision aid for classrooms, meetings, parties, and similar use cases — not a lottery or gambling product.
